Charles Francis Adams III (1866–1954) was a prominent public servant and a direct descendant of two U.S. Presidents—John Adams and John Quincy Adams. A Harvard-educated lawyer, businessman, and yachtsman, he served as Secretary of the Navy under President Herbert Hoover from 1929 to 1933. During his tenure, Adams focused on modernizing the Navy during a period of budgetary constraint and helped lay the groundwork for future naval expansion. Beyond his political career, he remained active in Boston's civic and philanthropic circles and was widely regarded as a thoughtful and principled statesman.
This issue is housed in a plastic protective covering for preservation. We also offer combined shipping upon request.
An excellent addition for collectors of U.S. political history, naval affairs, or prominent American families.
