Eve Curie (1904–2007) was the younger daughter of Nobel Prize-winning scientists Marie and Pierre Curie. Unlike her famous parents and sister Irène, who followed scientific careers, Eve Curie pursued a path in the arts and public affairs. At the time of this issue’s publication, she had gained international recognition for her bestselling biography Madame Curie (1937), which chronicled the life of her mother and brought the story of groundbreaking scientific discovery to a wide readership. Eve Curie was also noted for her eloquence and advocacy for democratic ideals, and during World War II, she would go on to serve with the Free French Forces and later work with UNICEF.

This issue is enclosed in a plastic protective covering for preservation. We also offer combined shipping upon request.

A compelling collectible for those interested in women’s history, literary biography, or the legacy of the Curie family.
